The Katsina State Police Command has disclosed that 64 hoodlums were arrested with 693 bags of fertiliser they stole from a warehouse in Dutsinma LGA of the state on the first day of the nationwide protest.
The nationwide protest turned violent in Dutsinma township where earlier, the protesters burnt down the party office of the All Progressives Congress APC.
The Command’s spokesperson, Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, who disclosed this to Vanguard in a telephone interview said the hoodlums vandalised a fertiliser warehouse in Dutsinma township and carted away 693 bags but were later arrested.
ASP Sadiq said the disorderly behaviour of the unruly protesters compelled the state government to impose a 24-hour curfew on Dutsinma LGA and a 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. curfew on the remaining 33 LGAs of the state.
Meanwhile relative calm have since returned to the state since the declaration of the curfew. (Vanguard)
