Racist student tries to kill black roommate, poisons his milk and mouthwash (Metro)

A chemistry student wrote racist notes to his black roommate while trying to murder him by poisoning his milk and mouthwash, police say.

Yukai Yang, 22, allegedly poisoned his roommate, Juwan Royal, with thallium last spring at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Police say Yang, who is from China, had been trying to slowly kill his roommate for months by sneaking the deadly metal into his milk, mouthwash, and other items.

‘This was over a period of time with small amounts of poisoning occurring,’ said Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli.

‘It was added to food and drinks in the refrigerator.’ Read more
