The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has advised farmers in the north to restrain from planting crops due to the current heavy rainfalls across the region.
Dr. Mansur Matazu, the Technical Assistant to NiMet’s Director-General/CEO, Prof. Sani Mashi, gave the advice in Abuja on Friday, the News Agency of Nigeria reported.
Matazu said the current rainfalls being experienced across the region were known as “transition period activities” leading to the onset of the planting season.
