As Lagos State governor-elect, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, takes oath of office on Wednesday, former commissioner for Public Transportation, Lanre Razak, has urged him to pay attention to the several bad roads across the state to ameliorate the suffering of motorists and commuters.
He also charged relevant agencies such as the Lagos Waste Management Agency and Private Sector Participation operators to redouble their efforts in carting away refuge heaps dotting some major streets in parts of the state to keep the environment clean and avert possible outbreak of epidemic. Children’s Day: NUT bemoans worsening state of public primary schools (Punch)
Today, Nigerian children will join their counterparts across the world to celebrate this year’s Children’s Day. But while their mates in other climes are learning with ease with good facilities, public primary school pupils in the country are learning under very terrible condition in schools that are in state of disrepair.
Investigations carried out by The PUNCH revealed that many of these pupils are learning with difficulty in dilapidated structures and environments that are not suitable for learning. Read more

MTN confirms EFCC probe, denies shares manipulation (ThisDay)
MTN Nigeria Communications Plc has confirmed the visit of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to its Falomo office in Ikoyi, Lagos, to probe an alleged shares manipulation scandal rocking the telecoms company since the recent listing of its shares on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).
The development may have contributed to the depreciation in the share price of MTN Nigeria for the first time since it was listed on the Nigerian bourse. Read more
CHI offers shareholders N162.6 million dividend (Guardian)
Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Plc has declared N162.6 million, amounting to a dividend of two kobo per share for its 2018 operations.
The Chairman of the company, Obinna Ekezie, at the 24th yearly general meeting of the insurer in Lagos, noted that the company remains committed to its promise of regular dividend payment.
He maintained that the company had paid dividends in seven out of 11 financial years of its operations. Read more

The Presidential Adviser on Niger Delta/Coordinator of Presidential Amnesty Programmes, Professor Charles Dokubo, has appealed to the multinationals, agencies and oil companies to assist in the reintegration project of the amnesty programmes so that the ex-combatants would be fully empowered and engaged in gainful endeavours.
He said militancy in the Niger Delta region is not purely a Nigerian affair because it affects international oil companies directly, stating that without the Presidential Amnesty Programmes (PAP), oil companies would have relocated out of the country and the Nigerian economy would have collapsed.
