Ex-Big Brother Naija housemate, Ka3na, has come under fire for faking a pregnancy to promote her new business.
The reality tv star took to her Instagram account on the 24th of January to show off her baby bump and announced that she was pregnant. She wrote, “We Are Pregnant! @lila_bossbaby A We’ve Carried You In Our Hearts For Far Too Longggg! Now We Are Restless To Hold You In Our Arms And Show You Off To The World Together We Will Love; Nurture & Watch “YOU” BLOSSOM A del @mk.london_ #PregnancyAnnouncement #KanaTheBossLady #TOUCHNOT” (sic).
However, in a recent post, the entrepreneur revealed that the baby she had been anticipating was her new business – a clothing collection said to be co-owned by her daughter. Read more

A day after a container crushed the occupants of a commercial bus in Lagos, another container fell on Monday.
A tweep, who shared the video said his sister recorded the scene on her way to work.

Diezani Alison-Madueke moves to recover seized assets (Punch)
A former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke, has prayed a Federal High Court in Abuja to vacate an order granted to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for final forfeiture of her seized assets.
Alison-Madueke, in an originating motion, sought an order extending the time within which to seek leave to apply to the court for an order to set aside the EFCC’s public notice issued to conduct public sale on her property.
The News Agency of Nigeria reported that the anti-corruption agency had planned to conduct public sale of all assets seized from Alison-Madueke beginning from Jan. 9 as contained in its public notice following various court judgments/orders issued in favour of the commission as final forfeiture orders against property and personal effects of the former minister. LAWMA: 70 environmental offenders jailed, 3,200 cart pushers arrested in 2022 (Guardian)
Managing Director (MD), Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), Ibrahim Odumboni said the agency jailed 70 environmental offenders in 2022, while others were asked to carry out community service.
Odumboni made this known at the weekend during unveiling of Pakam 2.0 in Ikoyi, Lagos. The app is aimed at improving how waste is addressed, managed and educate households on waste disposal.
The improved version will also enable recyclers get immediate cash after giving out their recyclable waste, give them access to insurance and help to report environmental infractions. Read more

Abuja/Kaduna train to resume operations on Tuesday (Vanguard)
The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has said that the Abuja/Kaduna Standard Gauge train service would resume operations on Tuesday, Jan. 31.
The Corporation’s Director of Operations, Mr Niyi Alli made the disclosure on behalf of the NRC Board and Management on Monday in Lagos.

A Northern group under the aegis of Arewa4Asiwaju, has said the outburst of the Presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu over the naira swap saved Nigeria’s from plunging into crisis.

NARD seeks intervention over Abia’s failure to pay Doctors’ 25-month salaries (Channels)
The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) is calling on the Federal Government, the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors across the country to intervene in the failure of the Abia State Government to pay doctors in 25 months.
This is according to a communiqué issued at the end of the association’s five-day National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on Saturday.
“The NEC calls on the Federal Government, the Nigerian Governors’ forum, the PDP Governors’ forum, the G-5 group of PDP Governors, and all well-meaning Nigerians to help point the Governor of Abia State, Victor Okezie Ikpeazu (Ph.D.) to the plight of our members and indeed all healthcare workers in Abia State University Teaching Hospital (ABSUTH) who have been owed salary arrears to the tune of 25 months and are still blackmailed by the State Government to continue to work,” the document stated. Fresh off the surprise box office success of Ticket to Paradise, Amazon Studios has struck a deal for a body-swap comedy starring Julia Roberts and Jennifer Aniston, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. Further plot details weren’t revealed.
The Amazon Studios movie is based on an original pitch by Palm Springs filmmaker Max Barbakow, who will write and direct. He’ll also produce alongside the two actresses and Lucky Chap Entertainment, the shingle co-founded by Margot Robbie.

Austrian police said Monday they arrested a 54-year-old man after he attacked two social workers with pepper spray when they found him living illegally in a private wine cellar in northeastern Austria with a woman and six young children.
Police in the Austrian province of Lower Austria were still trying to determine the identity of six children, who were from 7 months to 5 years old.
