Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has impounded 10 articulated vehicles for violating the restriction order on the Third Mainland Bridge.
Articulated vehicles have been prohibited, temporarily, from using the bridge by the state government to safeguard the infrastructure. The spokesperson for LASTMA, Adebayo Taofiq, stated that the impoundment was not punitive but aimed at protecting public infrastructure by regulating traffic flow.
He quoted the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Sola Giwa, who emphasised the importance of upholding traffic ordinances and safeguarding infrastructure. (Guardian)
