Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand admits he would have ‘loved the idea’ of Bruno Fernandes joining the club this summer.
Fernandes was heavily linked with United for much of the window after scoring 31 goals in 50 games for Sporting last term, but a move never materialised and the 24-year-old will remain in Portugal for the 2019/20 season.
The attacking midfielder was being viewed as a potential replacement for Paul Pogba, with Real Madrid and Juventus both interested in the World Cup-winning Frenchman. Read more
