Rivers’ violent by-election as bellwether for 2019 poll (Guardian)

Against the background of the wanton violence that characterised the Port Harcourt local government council constituency111 (PHLAGA)-seat by-election in Rivers State, observers have expressed the possibility that the entire episode could be a bellwether for the 2019 polls.

The liberty with which armed political thugs brandishing guns, bottles and other deadly weapons stormed several polling units to disrupt the electoral process was shocking.
