Arsenal appear to have got on the wrong side of Saint-Etienne once again after the French club missed out on a temporary agreement for William Saliba.
The Gunners signed Saliba from Saint-Etienne for a fee of around £27million last summer before immediately loaning the 19-year-old central defender back to the Ligue 1 outfit for the 2019/20 campaign.
Mikel Arteta hinted that Saliba could be in his plans for the new term by giving the youngster a chance to impress in pre-season but widespread reports suggested the youngster would head out on loan before the summer transfer window closed.
The Frenchman is yet to play a competitive match for the Gunners (Metro)
