Shehu Sani, the Senator representing Kaduna Central in the National Assembly, has insisted that he remains a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in reaction to a letter making rounds about his suspension from the party.

Sani, speaking on Channels Televisionโ€™s Politics Today, made it clear that he joined the party voluntarily and will leave out of his volition.

โ€œI went into the APC voluntarily and if I’m quitting, I will do out of my volition,โ€ the lawmaker said.

Sani also revealed plans by the members of the Nationalย Assembly to impeach Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

โ€œAs it stands, the numbers to remove the Senate president are not there.

โ€œIt is dangerous to circumvent the law to remove the leadership of the National Assembly,โ€ Sani added.
