Senate President Bukola Saraki has reacted on his supposed declaration for the 2019 presidential election.

The former Kwara governor said the comment credited to him as nursing a purported plan to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari was false.

Olu Onemola, Sarakiโ€™s Special Assistant on New Media Thursday, explained that his principal stating that he was โ€œconsideringโ€ cannot be interpreted to mean a declaration, Daily post reports.

He reacted via his Twitter handle to the Bloomberg article entitled โ€˜Nigerian Senate head says heโ€™s considering running for presidentโ€™.

Onemola said: โ€œConsideringโ€™ is not a declaration. At the appropriate time, the President of Senate will be specific about his aspiration for 2019.

โ€œMoreover, the Bloomberg interview was 90% on the economy, and not politics.

โ€œThe President of the Senate has been clear that at the right time, Nigerianโ€™s will know what his plans are.โ€
