The leadership of the Nigeria’s National Assembly has insisted that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) lack the required numbers to impeach Senate president Bukola Saraki and speaker Yakubu Dogara. Saraki who recently defected from APC to PDP has been under fire by the APC to vacate his position as senate president. Dogara on the other side is yet to renounce his membership of the APC, but has also been accused of anti-party activities against the APC. Both lawmakers alleged that Tuesday morning invasion of the Assembly complex by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) was an attempt by the executive and APC lawmakers to reposition leadership of the National Assembly.
