Onyeka Nwelue, writer, filmmaker, teacher, and literary tastemaker has alerted the public to the activities of scammer(s) who are impersonating him on social media to hoodwink gullible Nigerians wishing to travel abroad.

In a series of social media posts shared with Thisislagos.ng, Onyeka Nwelue’s image was used to solicit patronage for those seeking – “100% Visa without Stress.”

The scammers promise to help the gullible get visas to countries like – USA, UK, Canada. Australia. Turkey. Dubai. Bahamas, Singapore. Japan. Germany.

They also promise “2 years Canada working permit visa package.”

Onyeka is not currently active on social media

The writer in a note to thisisilagos said “It has come to my notice that an imposter is using my name and image to hoodwink members of the public for visa scam (see screenshot).”

Continuing, Nwelue said he was not currently on social media and was not involved in the solicitations.

“I wish to reiterate that I am not on Facebook or any social media channel and I’m working with the right authorities to unravel who this impersonator is.” 

“The general public should take note as anyone who engages with the said imposter does so at their own risk. Signed, Onyeka Nwelue”
