A school bus driver has been arrested over claims she let students aged 11 and 13 take turns driving themselves home.
Video shared on social media appears to show Joandrea McAtee, 27, say to the children ‘Don’t you tell no adults about this’ while directing a child dwarfed by the bus’s steering wheel on how to brake.
Another clip shows a girl driving the bus unaided, while McAtee sits behind and says ‘It’s all good, it’s all good, I’m letting her stop at Michael’s stop.’
According to CBS2, McAtee, of Portage, Ind., was fired shortly after the alleged incident last Thursday when shocked parents complained to a school resource officer.
She was arrested the next day as she went to collect her final paycheck, and has been held at Porter County Jail. Read more
