Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is ready to let Scott McTominay leave the club on loan in January.
The 21-year-old has started just twice so far this season and one was in an unorthodox centre-back position in a chastening 3-1 defeat against West Ham.
Mourinho bought Brazil midfielder Fred for £52m in the summer and McTominay has found his opportunities limited in the centre of the park.
United rejected approaches from Leeds and Aston Villa last summer but McTominay doesn’t want his progress to stall at Old Trafford.
Mourinho believes a stint in the Championship would help toughen McTominay up and United will let him join the right club on loan in January, according to the Sun.
Many feel Mourinho has been using McTominay in a centre-back position to make a point to United’s board. Read more
