Ukraine says open to a 30-day ceasefire after talks in Saudi Arabia (AfricaNews)

The Trump administration lifted its suspension of military aid and intelligence sharing for Ukraine, and Kyiv signaled that it was open to a 30-day ceasefire in the war with Russia, pending Moscow’s agreement, American and Ukrainian officials said Tuesday following talks in Saudi Arabia.

The administration’s decision marked a sharp shift from only a week ago, when it imposed the measures to push Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to enter talks to end the war with invading Russian forces. The suspension of U.S. assistance came days after Zelenskyy and Trump argued about the war in a tense White House meeting.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who led the U.S. delegation to the talks in Jeddah, said Washington would present the ceasefire offer to the Kremlin, which has thus far opposed anything short of a permanent end to the conflict without accepting any concessions. Read more

Man United unveils plans for new stadium amid struggles (AfricaNews)

Manchester United unveiled plans on Tuesday to build the “world’s greatest” soccer stadium. A proposed 100,000-seater arena would surpass Wembley as the biggest in the United Kingdom.

Under the plans, the 20-time English champion said it would build next to its iconic Old Trafford ground, likely meaning it would not need to relocate during the construction process.

“Our current stadium has served us brilliantly for the past 115 years, but it has fallen behind the best arenas in world sport,” part owner Jim Ratcliffe said. “By building next to the existing site, we will be able to preserve the essence of Old Trafford, while creating a truly state-of-the-art stadium that transforms the fan experience only footsteps from our historic home.” Read more

Can the Cavaliers win 70 games? Cleveland quietly pursuing NBA history as they extend winning streak to 15 (CBS)

Tuesday represented an all-too familiar set of circumstances for the Cleveland Cavaliers. They entered their battle with the Brooklyn Nets missing several key contributors: Donovan Mitchell, De’Andre Hunter and Ty Jerome.

They struggled through the first three quarters, falling behind by as many as 18 points. And then, in the fourth quarter, they exploded to swipe the game, 109-104, right out from under Brooklyn’s noses.

It was a fitting way for the Cavaliers to match their season-opening mark of 15 consecutive victories. They may not have Boston’s championship pedigree or Oklahoma City’s historic wire-to-wire statistical dominance, but when it matters most, no matter who is on the floor, they find a way to win. Entering Tuesday’s action, Cleveland led the NBA with an astonishing +38.6 clutch net rating. They are essentially playing out the end of a sports movie every night. Read more
