Operatives from a special unit of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a 60-year-old wanted drug kingpin, Okpara Paul Chigozie, after seven years of avoiding the law.

He was caught trying to ship large quantities of cocaine and methamphetamine to the South-East and other parts of Nigeria. Okpara had been on the NDLEA wanted list since 2019 and was finally apprehended at 72, Michael Ojo Street, Isheri, in Ojo area of Lagos State on Sunday, July 13, 2025.

Spokesperson for the anti-drug agency, Femi Babafemi, in a statement yesterday, said Okparaโ€™s arrest followed the interception of some of his consignments at 5:45a.m., the same day at Ilasamaja along Apapa-Oshodi Expressway. (Guardian)
