Sex offender’s message to victim hours after groping her (Metro)

A sex offender sent a text to his victim claiming he was ‘sick to his stomach’ after abusing her.

Daniel Paterson, from Guisborough, was found guilty by magistrates of sexually touching a young woman at a home in the town.

But the lower court decided they did not have sufficient powers to sentence the 46-year-old.

Instead, he was put before the Recorder of Middlesbrough, Simon Bourne Arton QC, at Teesside Crown Court on Monday.

Paterson has continued to deny the offence, to police, the probation service and in front of Judge Bourne Arton. Read more
