Partial access on Twitter restored (Punch)
There were indications on Wednesday that Nigerians may now have partial access to Twitter.
Checks by our correspondents showed that as of Wednesday night, access to the microblogging site had been restored through computer systems. However, trials via the mobile phone were not successful.
The Federal Government had on June 4 announced the indefinite suspension of the operations of the microblogging and social networking platform in the country, days after Twitter deleted a tweet by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), which it said violated its rules.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, had cited ‘the persistent use of the platform for activities that are capable of undermining Nigeria’s corporate existence’ as the reason for the suspension. Read more
Stakeholders hail sack of ‘under-performing’ Agriculture, Power ministers (Guardian)
In what came as a shock to many, President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday, relieved two ministers of their appointments. The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mohammed Nanono, and his Power counterpart, Saleh Mamman, were sacked in a bid to reinvigorate the cabinet and consolidate legacy achievements, according to the President’s address during the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja.
The two ministers were sworn in August 2019 as part of the over 40 ministers who make up the current Federal Executive Council. Though the President did not reveal the rating of the sacked ministers, many Nigerians have constantly complained about the poor state of power and high price of food in the country.
The President, in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, said the ministers were sacked after an independent and critical self-review of their performance, an important evaluation marking the beginning of a continuous process, which will see more members exit the cabinet.
President Buhari also hinted that the contributions of the ministers could be considered ‘weak.’ “These significant review steps have helped to identify and strengthen weak areas, close gaps, build cohesion and synergy in governance, manage the economy and improve the delivery of public good to Nigerians,” he added. How to get pretty, glowing skin without makeup (Prevention)
After more than a year of working from home and wearing face masks, we’ve gotten used to giving our makeup bags a bit of the cold shoulder. Many of us who previously wore a full face every day are now happily going more bare much of the time, even as we head back into office life and in-person socializing—and not just because it’s easier. More time spent outdoors (and less spent in bone-dry, glow-zapping office building air) can have a positive impact on skin, and there are a slew of new skincare formulas to help us feel polished with less makeup. Here’s what to know about putting your best face forward.
Make sure your skin has moisture.
A lit-from-within glow is beauty-speak for skin that has a healthy moisture barrier. That’s the outermost layers of skin responsible for holding in water and nourishment and repelling irritants in the air so they don’t penetrate skin and wreak havoc. “If your face is dry, red, or flaky, that means you have a damaged moisture barrier,” says Austin-based celebrity facialist Renée Rouleau. “When this happens, your skin develops tiny, invisible cracks that allow moisture to escape and light to penetrate, meaning light is no longer bouncing off skin’s surface to create that natural radiance.”
Thankfully, the right skincare can restore a damaged moisture barrier as well as your luminosity. First, stop using retinoids and anything with exfoliants until any dryness or irritation subsides. Read more

Kanye West cheated on Kim Kardashian after she welcomed her first two kids — and is the inspiration for his new song “Hurricane.”
Multiple sources confirmed the meaning behind the telling lyrics in the track off “Donda,” his latest album that was released with plenty of fanfare and controversy.
“The song is in a way his testimony of everything he did wrong and taking accountability for their marriage breakdown,” one insider shared.
In the song the West raps, “Here I go actin’ too rich / Here I go with a new chick / And I know what the truth is / Still playin’ after two kids / It’s a lot to digest when your life always movin’.
Our source confirmed the aforementioned “new chick” is not brief fling Irina Shayk, despite rumors swirling otherwise. Read more

Denmark earn comfortable win over Scotland in World Cup qualifier (BBC)
Scotland’s World Cup hopes were dealt a serious blow as they were outclassed by a vibrant Denmark in Copenhagen to slip seven points behind the group leaders.
Daniel Wass jumped above Kieran Tierney to head in an early opener, and Scotland’s composure deserted them as they let in another 93 seconds later to go 2-0 down after just 15 minutes.
Joakim Maehle played a flick before running off Billy Gilmour to receive Mikkel Damsgaard’s pass and finish through the legs of Craig Gordon as Steve Clarke’s side folded.
Mercifully, the vastly-superior Danes did not add to their advantage but the result leaves Scotland with a nigh-on impossible task of overhauling them, with top spot guaranteeing a place in Qatar next winter, and second place reaching the play-offs. Read more
MMA fighter shoves sex toy in opponent’s face, and all hell breaks loose (NYPost)
This isn’t something you typically see at a pre-fight stand-off.

Kayla Harrison’s MMA obsession has her two wins from second PFL crown
During the pre-fight stand-off, Brodnicka — making her MMA debut — removed a black dildo from a pink covering and handed it to Bogusz, who threw it back at her.
The pair exchanged words before Brodnicka hit Bogusz in the face, prompting Bogusz to kick her — which led to security separating both fighters.
Brodnicka and Bogusz then took turns grabbing the mediator’s microphone to spew insults at each other before things became physical again. Read more
