Simi has released “Woman”, her much-anticipated single to the delight of many.
As the Nigerian artiste promised in her post made via Instagram on Thursday, the song made its debut in the early hours of Friday.
Woman speaks of the many “sufferings” and intimidations a woman faces and how her confidence, wealth and marital status is misconstrued and even downplayed by others.
It was all love as fans, both home and abroad, took to her YouTube channel to give raving remarks about the song.
While one fan dedicated the song to women across the globe, a male fan cheered Simi on for changing his perspective on how to address women.
He wrote: “You changed my perspective on how to address my female colleagues. You’re such a genius Simi. Feed us with more.”
Simi has proven to be a talented and versatile artiste who can comfortably take on any genre as her new song is set in the afrobeat style. The song carries the popular Fela phrase “water no get enemy” and features her husband and popular musician, Adekunle Gold in the chorus.
The arrival of this song was heralded by the “Nobody Like Woman” Challenge which the singer started to help women confront the many hurtful and demeaning things that have been hurled at them.
Just like the “Nobody like Woman” Challenge which gained lots of attention and participation, it is expected that this new song will gain ground quickly, particularly among the women folk.
The official video for “Woman” will premiere today at 4 pm.
