Police prosecute 29,052 cases in 1 year – Force PRO (Leadership)
The Nigeria Police Force has prosecuted 29,052 criminal cases across the country in the last one year, Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, an Assistant Commissioner of Police, has said.
Adejobi, who stated this in a statement on Tuesday, said the Police, under the focused leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, following his pledge to ensure that perpetrators of crime are brought to justice swiftly and fairly, has successfully prosecuted these criminal cases within his one year in office.

Nigeria’s insurance industry assets hit N2.67trn in Q4 2023 (Tribune)
The Nigeria Insurance industry has grown its total assets to about N2.67 trillion in the fourth Quarter (Q4) of 2023.
This is contained in the latest data released on Tuesday by the Statistics department, directorate of Research, Statistics and Publication of the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM).
The NAICOM report said the industry also recorded total Capitalisation of N851 billion within the period under review. Read more

The Association of Table Water Producers (ATWAP) has appealed to the federal government to save the water industry from total collapse by supporting the association with financial aid to enhance the business of their members numbering over 30,000 across the country.
Recall that 22nd March of every year has been set aside to celebrate ‘World Water Day’ and water producers in the country used the annual celebration to reflect on water and its usefulness to mankind and other creatures.
The association lamented the rate at which the cost of production is skyrocketing, making sachet water popularly known as pure water almost becoming unaffordable to the masses, while at the same time, appealing to Nigerians to bear with them. Read more

The President of the Association of Foreign Airlines and Representative in Nigeria (AFARN), Dr Kingsley Nwokoma has given kudos to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Barrister Festus Keyamo, (SAN), for the payment of a substantial part of the trapped foreign airlines funds.

2 found guilty of murdering footballer Cody Fisher in 2022 (Guardian)
Two men have been found guilty of murdering the footballer Cody Fisher, who was stabbed to death inside a Birmingham nightclub on Boxing Day in 2022.
Remy Gordon and Kami Carpenter had blamed each other for stabbing the 23-year-old former Birmingham City academy player, who died at the scene from a chest wound.
A 10-week trial was told Fisher was attacked with a weapon smuggled through security into the Crane nightclub in Digbeth before a pre-planned “act of retribution” for a minor incident two days earlier. Read more
