Student threatened with deportation lands apprenticeship after passing A-levels (Metro)

A teenager who was trafficked to the UK in the back of a truck has landed a top apprenticeship after getting his A-levels.

Stiven Bregu, 18, had feared he may be deported after arriving from Albania in 2015 but he is now looking forward to a brighter future.

The teen, who had escaped a violent home in his country, was placed in foster care after he was found alone in Keynsham, near Bristol.

He was initially unable to speak English but quickly learned and has now collected his A-level results in maths, biology and chemistry at St Mary Redcliffe and Temple School in Bristol. Read more
