The Super Falcons on Thursday recorded a slim 1-0 win over CSKA Moscow Ladies at the ongoing Turkish Women’s Tournament in the city of Antalya.
It was also the first victory for new Head Coach, Randy Waldrum who signed his working agreement with the Nigeria Football Federation 24 hours before the encounter.
The lone goal scored by Chinwendu Ihezuo at the Emir Sports Complex earned the nine-time African champions their first win since October 2019 when they lost the Olympics ticket to Cote d’Ivoire at the Agege Stadium in Lagos. Nigeria capped Germany –based midfielder Patricia George and Spain-based Antoniette Payne, also a midfielder, in a match that Waldrum expressed his pleasure with the overall performance of his charges.
