Susan and Diana have turned my life upside down in this Lagos

I think that I’m in love with two women. But is that even possible? The name of the first is Susan. She may not be beautiful in the fashion magazine sense of the word but she is the kind of woman you walk past and do a double take no matter what.

The day I first saw her she had on blue pants that looked like they had been expertly glued to her skin with a revealing white top that I can still picture even now many months after. Incidentally, all of her perpetually occupies my mind it doesn’t matter what I’m up to or where I am. I was leaving a friend’s office when she walked into the corridor and I just stood there in her path, not moving until she was standing so close to me I could smell the mint on her breath, the oil in her hair, her deodorant and body lotion.

“My name is Johnson,” I said not wanting to pass up a chance to begin a conversation with a promise of things to come.

“I… am Susan, have we met?” was her response a smile eventually softening her words.

“Not exactly. But I’d love to correct that,” I said like a hopeful fisherman looking at throwing in the bait and gave her my hand.

She took it and how strong her grip was even if her hands were really soft. I have always had a weakness for such women, radiant but with a strong grip.

“Nice to meet you, Susan,” I said and handed her my card. She did the same.

0ne week later, I watched her sprawled, completely naked on my bed after a feisty session of lovemaking. Her nipples rising and falling with the rhythm of her breathing. This had never happened to me before. And all along, I thought this would be a one-night stand. That after she steps out, I would never see her again. How wrong I was.

I asked her out for a drink when I called a few days after our meeting and the sparks never stopped when she said yes. She works in telecom. I work in media. She is from Ebonyi State. I am from Edo State. She studied accounting. I studied communications. We are both single. What could ever go wrong?

After going sightseeing at a few spots on the Island we retired to my Mainland flat in Ilupeju where she cooked us dinner with me as the side chef. Then there was nothing left to do than make love. It was like call and response, me calling and she responding all night long. The best part is that we were both not exhausted. But still, this was just for the sex for me. Then there was another night, then a weekend here and another one there.

Things were going very well one month after but I had not told my friends. Perhaps I didn’t want them to jinx it with their sometimes over the top talk. Maybe I just wanted to give it some time. And there we were, my friends and I; Fred and Victor, having a drink at a lovely boutique hotel after work that Friday evening on the Island when Diana walks in tall as if to touch the heavens and dark like midnight. Susan made a trip to go see her mum in Abakaliki. It was actually the reason I was out with my friends in the first place.

I looked away from my friends, the two new ladies they were with and their loud banter and my eyes caught and held a lady who had come to the place unaccompanied. She was pretty, with full lips and eyes that screamed invitation.

I smiled and waved. She waved back. We shook hands and she said her name is Diana. Like I had guessed, someone had stood her up but she was not about to let that spoil her fun. We had just lit a spark, I was not about to walk away from the blaze that was to come. Not after my friends had taunted me all evening. I wonder why I didn’t just tell them about Susan and what we had been up to.

“Where have you been my friend?” Fred asked as soon as stepped into the place. It was our default place to meet up and wait for the Friday traffic to peter out.

“Yes o, where have you been? Or have you kidnapped someone and have been keeping her captive?” Victor chorused.

“Why does it have to be a woman? You didn’t even call to find out what was up. For all you know, I could have been the one who had been kidnapped,” I said.

“That’s blackmail, you are saying that because you don’t want to buy us beer. The rules haven’t changed, you come in last, drinks are on you,” Fred reminded me. I was too full of joy to argue any further but there was no stopping the two best friends I have in the world. Conversation soon moved to other things like football, politics and sundry issues. They even introduced me to Ify and Bose, their companions for the evening. We were at it when Diana showed up.

Well, Diana had on a loose fitting top with blue and gold floral patterns. Her miniskirt was so short I told myself there was no way she just came from an office. Her top was cut so deep in the front I could get a good view of her breasts, while the skirt left little to the imagination. This is one picture that has also stayed with me. I just can’t shake it off even if I try.

“What do you do?” I found myself asking as I let go of her hand.

“Business, mostly buying and selling. I’ve been doing that since before I left the university,” she said then smiled and asked: “How about you?”

“I work the media.”

She joined us on our table which the barman sent someone to merge with another so as to extend it.

We were soon munching on our turkey pepper soup, seeping beers and talking as if we knew each other all our lives. It was all so perfect. If ever there was a night out with friends, this was it. But we soon had to part ways, everyone to his own nook.

As you can imagine, Diana and I ended up at my place on the Mainland in Ilupeju. The only difference was that she didn’t have to cook dinner. Everything was like a replay. It’s amazing I didn’t make a mistake and call her by Susan’s name. The other difference is that she hails from Edo State.

When we got to my place the first thing I did was I kiss her back, my left hand slipping under her dress to grab a breast. Her moan was music and alarm, so I kissed her deeper to still her moans as I began to feel her under her short skirt.

She was without panties. I slipped a finger in and felt her lush bush. She shivered and then she was grinding into me as I pressed my finger deeper and deeper. This, too, I can’t forget. I love these two women, there is no denying that. And you tell me that what I feel is not right so I should let go of one for the other. I don’t think that is going to happen anytime soon. I will die first than let go.
