Ahead of the 2019 general elections, leaders of the Take Back Nigeria Movement, TBN and the Sustainable National Party, SNP, have agreed on a strategic partnership to take over the leadership of the country from the ruling class, which comprised of ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) and major opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). 
In a press release signed by Jaye Gaskia, Convener of the TBN, the movements by the agreement are poised to take the country away from current political office holders who they have accused of failing the Nigerian people and driving the country into “the vortex of deep and deepening crisis of existential proportions…,” which they said continues to impoverish millions of Nigerians.
According to the statement sent to ThisisLagos.ng via email, the movements said the coming-together of the forces is to unleash “the full creative collective potential of our people in responding to this crisis and precipitating the emergence of a new popular, visionary, people-centred, and ideological leadership.”
The forces made up of TBN, a radical, mass, left, socialist-oriented, anti-establishment political movement and SPN, a socialist-oriented political party, has concluded in making the SNP into the Party to enforce the implementation of Chapter Two of the 1999 CFRN, a product of TBN’s historic struggles which engendered the historic compromise of 1978, the statement read.
