A teenager, Chukwudi Okorie, on Friday appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court, pleading guilty to conspiracy and stealing.
Nineteen-year-old Okorie, whose address was not provided, was arraigned on a three-count charge of conspiracy, burglary and stealing.
He pleaded guilty to the first and third counts but pleaded not guilty to the second count (burglary).
The prosecutor, Insp. Ajayi Emmanuel, standing in for DSP Ajayi Kehinde, told the court that Okorie was arrested on Jan. 18 about 3:40 a.m.
Emmanuel said that the defendant burgled one Ogieriakiu (medicine and provision) shop and stole drugs worth N50,000, a power generator worth N84,000 and cash of N79,000.
He also told the court that Okorie stole an Itel phone worth N10,000, power bank worth N8,000, Wi-Fi worth N5,000, three pairs of trousers worth N15,000, and shirts worth N15,000 as well as hangers worth N25,000.
The prosecutor said that the property belonged to one Cynthia Roger.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Section 411, 310 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos, 2015.
The Magistrate, Mr M.A. Adegbaye, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200,000 and two sureties.
He adjourned the case until Feb. 22 for further mention. (NAN)
