The Elevation Church celebrates 10th anniversary with 10-hour nonstop worship session

Frontline non-denominational Christian ministry, The Elevation Church (TEC), is hosting a non-stop special praise session tagged- “10 hours of Praise Live!” to celebrate its 10th anniversary on Saturday, 10 October 2020, at its Lekki and Maryland Worship Centres from 0700 to 1700, and online via YouTube @elevationng.

Featuring BJ Sax, Sola Allyson, DJ Horphuray, Debo Worship and the Elevation Priests of Praise, the non-stop praise session will provide an avenue for people to safely gather and find joy in the presence of God upon registration at elevationng.org/anniversary.

Founded by its Lead Pastors, Godman and Bola Akinlabi, TEC held its first service at City Mall, Onikan, Lagos, on Sunday 10th October 2010 (fondly called 10.10.10 by church members), with three hundred and eighty-six attendees. Since then, the church has grown into a ministry impacting thousands of lives in several nations with a membership strength of over fifteen thousand people across all its expressions – the Island church, Lekki; the Mainland church, Maryland; the Greater Lekki church, Sangotedo; the Ikorodu church; the LifePointe church; and the Elevate Community Church, Mississauga, GTA, Canada.

Speaking on the 10th Anniversary, Lead Pastor of The Elevation Church, Godman Akinlabi says, “Our greatest testimony at The Elevation Church is not about the number of churches planted, or the number of pastors empowered beyond this ministry, or the various  humanitarian works touching lives of people we don’t even know, our greatest testimony is that of truly transformed lives. This is about the numerous people who, irrespective of how long they have spent here, have had their lives transformed by salvation, the discovery of purpose and have in turn progressed to living a life of impact to others. This is the essence of the vision that God gave us from the beginning; to go ‘make greatness common’”.

The 10th anniversary celebration will also feature the premiere of a special documentary titled ‘The Elevation Church Story’ detailing the journey of the church since inception. This documentary will be aired on Wazobia Max and Pop Central TV stations from 5.30-6.30pm on TEC’s anniversary, Saturday 10th October; and a repeat broadcast on Wazobia Max on the following day, from 4pm-5pm.

As the month-long celebrations continue, the church will also launch digital special anniversary editions of its Elev8 Magazine and photobook, detailing the journey so far, in text and images respectively.

Physical celebratory services will continue in the different expressions of the church, whilst observing Covid-19 safety protocols, with ministry friends and special guests such as Rev. Sam Adeyemi, Dr. Mensa Otabil, and Pastor Taiwo Odukoya.

The 10th anniversary celebration is not just a month-long event but a series of events scheduled throughout the 10th year of the church. On Saturday 24th & Sunday 25th October, the women’s ministry of the church will host its annual conference, Made for More, with the theme ‘Yearning for More’. Speaking at the conference will be Pastor Nike Adeyemi, Debola Deji-Kurunmi and TEC’s Co-Lead Pastor, Bola Akinlabi.

In November, the men’s ministry will also host the annual Men of Honour conference while a 10th anniversary symposium will hold in January 2021. More information about event line-up and the anniversary celebration can be found on the website elevationng.org/anniversary.

Over the years, TEC has grown to be loved by many, by the grace of God and through various impact initiatives tailored to different groups of people, to ensure wholistic development of its members, guests and the society at large.
