Theresa May told to quit by former ally (Metro)

Theresa May needs to announce her resignation ‘today’, according to a former ally of the Prime Minister.

Nigel Evans said while he had previously been ‘fiercely loyal’ the time had come for a new Conservative leader to stop the march of Nigel Farage’s new party.

He will hold a meeting of the powerful 1922 committee later today and said it was his recommendation that Mrs May resign ‘as soon as possible.’
