Tickets for the Narrative Landscape Press-hosted “An Evening with Chimamanda” event have sold out barely one week after it was announced in a press release by Dr. Eghosa Imasuen, Business Development Director of Narrative Landscape Press and author of the novel Fine Boys (2012).
The free-to-the-public event, which requires registration online has since been fully subscribed, attesting to the popularity and star power of one of Nigeria’s most revered writers, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, who recently gave a powerful talk on the dangers of toxic masculinity, culture shock suffered by immigrants and the strong choke of patriarchy around the necks of women.
“An Evening with Chimamanda”, taking place on September 22 at The Workstation, 7 Ibiyinka Olorunbe Close, Victoria Island, will feature conversations around her most recent books, We Should All Be Feminists and Dear Ijeawele, and, as stated by Dr. Imasuen in an email to This is Lagos, will serve as an opportunity for members of the audience to “contribute your voice to those of people interested in looking beyond stereotypes and social norms to recognise our common humanity.” Time for the gathering is 3pm – 7pm.
