President Bola Tinubu has restructured his media and communications team, designating three Special Advisers to collectively serve as government spokespersons, according to a State House statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President (Information & Strategy).

In the reorganisation, Mr. Sunday Dare, previously Special Adviser on Public Communication and National Orientation, will now serve as Special Adviser, Media and Public Communications. Mr. Daniel Bwala, who was appointed last week as Special Adviser, Media and Public Communication, has been redesignated as Special Adviser Policy Communication.

These appointments, together with the existing role of Special Adviser, Information and Strategy, establish a three-person spokesperson system for the presidency, moving away from the traditional single-spokesperson structure.

The new arrangement, as detailed in the statement, aims to enhance efficiency within the government’s communication machinery and ensure effective and consistent dissemination of government policies, decisions and engagements.
