The Chairperson of Nigerian Diaspora Commission (NDC), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, yesterday described All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as the best for the country.
He urged Nigerians to vote for the former Lagos State governor, saying he is the best candidate for next year’s presidential election.
Dabiri-Erewa described Tinubu as an experienced and competent technocrat, astute politician and great administrator, whose pedigree and past feat could not be dismissed with a wave of the hand.
She said the achievements of Tinubu as governor of Lagos State were enough to convince Nigerians that the country would be in a safe hand, if he was elected.
Dabiri-Erewa, a three-term House of Representatives member and chieftain of the ruling party, spoke with reporters in Lagos ahead of her 60th birthday in Lagos next week.
She paid tribute to the Jagaban Borgu, saying he was a talent hunter, great organiser, mobiliser, resourceful, tolerant and accommodating leader.
Reflecting on the Tinubu years in Lagos, Dabiri-Erewa said many Nigerians expected him to re-enact the feat at the centre.
She hailed Tinubu’s initiative and power of ideas, which led to increased revenue generation in Lagos State.
She recalled that the eminent politician presided over an Executive Council (Exco) of talents that worked for the development of the state across the sectors.
Dabiri-Erewa hailed Tinubu’s contributions to national integration, unity and cohesion by extending the frontiers of political participation to accommodate non-indigenes and other Nigerians.
She said: “We can see what Asiwaju Tinubu has done in Lagos. Who will not want him to do that at the national level? Asiwaju Tinubu is the best for Nigeria.”
