President Bola Tinubu has announced the reconstitution of management teams within several agencies under the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy in a significant move aimed at enhancing Nigeria’s digital economy landscape.
Effective immediately, a cadre of highly qualified Nigerians has been appointed to key positions within these agencies, signifying a strategic shift towards bolstering the country’s digital infrastructure and capabilities.
At the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Abraham Oshadami assumes the role of Executive Commissioner for Technical Services, while Rimini Makama takes on the mantle of Executive Commissioner for Stakeholder Management. Additionally, Opeyemi Dele-Ajayi is appointed as President/CEO of the Digital Bridge Institute.
Similarly, at the Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) Limited, Abiodun Attah is appointed Executive Director for Technical Services, Aisha Abdullahi as Executive Director for Finance & Administration, and Jaiyeola Awokoya as Executive Director for Marketing & Business Development.
In Galaxy Backbone (BB) Limited, Ibrahim Adepoju Adeyanju takes the helm as Managing Director/CEO, alongside Mohammed Sani Ibrahim as Executive Director for Finance & Corporate Services, Olusegun Olulade as Executive Director for Customer Centricity & Marketing, and Olumbe Akinkugbe as Executive Director for Digital Exploration & Technical Services.
This comprehensive overhaul, according to a statement by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity), aims to harness the expertise and experience of these seasoned professionals to drive innovation, efficiency and growth within the digital economy sector.
President Tinubu expressed confidence in the newly constituted teams, expecting them to deliver excellence and significantly contribute to the socio-economic development of the nation through the advancement of digital technologies.
