COZA pastor don gbe body from pulpit

Embattled Senior Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Biodun Fatoyinbo, has stepped down from his position.

The news was conveyed in an Instagram post he made at 9.55am.

โ€œThe past few days have been very sobering for me. I have taken time to pray and seek spiritual counsel from Christian leaders around the world who feel very concerned about the ongoing reports in the media,โ€ he posted. โ€œDrawing from their counsel and that of the leadership of the Commonwealth of Zion Aseembly and owing to my love for Godโ€™s work and the sacred honour of my calling, I have decided to take a leave of absence from the pulpit of the church.โ€

LOL. So it took Bukolaโ€™s revelation to get Oga Pastor to take โ€œtime to pray and seek spiritual counsel from Christian leaders around the worldโ€ ba? What a miracle-working God we serve!

True talk!ย Alibaba yabs Nigerian pastors

Veteran comedian and social commentator, Alibaba has called out prominent pastors for keeping mute over the rape allegations levied against Biodun Fatoyinbo, pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA).

Alibaba noted that the case would have been different if it was about members of the church and not a fellow pastor. He took to his Instagram page to write, โ€œWhen it comes to preaching against what members of the congregations are doing wrong, its in Vol 1, 2 and 3. Fornication, smoking, indecent dressing, drinking, nightclubbing, polygamy, divorce, robbery, domestic violence, terrorism, being stingy, racism, corruption, greed, homosexuality, adultery, mixing with the bad gang.

โ€œBut touch, not the Lordโ€™s anointed and do my profits no harm.โ€

LOL. Alibaba, you wan make pastors and clergymen spoil market for one of their own? In this recession? You rude o.

โ€˜No hiding place for Sarakiโ€™

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says no amount of media campaign against its Chairman, Mr Ibrahim Magu will stop the prosecution of the former President of the Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki.

Spokesman of the commission, Mr Tony Orilade made this known in a statement in Abuja on Sunday. According to Orilade, the attention of the EFCC has been drawn to the false claim made by Saraki, who is facingย investigation here in Nigeria.

โ€œHe seems to have chosen outside the shores of Nigeria as the launch pad of his campaign of calumny against the EFCC and its leadership,โ€ Orilade said. โ€œWe wish to state without any contradiction that the ongoing investigation against the formerย Senate president and other Politically-exposed Persons (PeP) are on course, while Saraki and his co travellers will surely have their day in court shortly.โ€

Some of our politicians are just needlessly adamant and stubborn. Where did Saraki keep his ears when Oshiomhole said port to APC and your sins will be forgiven? Mtcheew.

Are you among the chosen 400?

Nigeriaโ€™s opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said it has over 400 witnesses to present at the presidential election petition tribunal to further challenge President Muhammadu Buhariโ€™s victory in the February poll.

โ€œWe have over 400 witnesses. But if we are able to present up to 300 we will review our case,โ€ the partyโ€™s lead counsel, Levi Uzeugwu, said.

However, when asked for the exact number of witnesses so that the tribunal can allocate time for each party to cross-examine the witnesses, Uzuegwu requested the court to stand down for 30 minutes to allow them to decide. The request was granted. The tribunal granted the party 14 days to do this and tender all documents they need to prove its case.

Witnesses or whistleblowers? They should define this well so Iโ€™ll know which queue to enter.ย Money must be made.

We no get shame – Rohr

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr says โ€œthereโ€™s no shameโ€ losing to Madagascar after his highly-rated side crashed 2-0 to Madagascar in their final group B game on Sunday at the Africa Cup of Nations ongoing in Egypt.

A goal from Lalaina Nomenjanahary and a deflected free-kick from Carolus Andriamahitsinoro saw debutants Madagascar finish as Group B winners.ย Rohr admits his side were poor and complacent. The defeat was the Eaglesโ€™ first at the tournament in Egypt and their 20th in 89 AFCON games.

โ€œWe lost to a good team because Madagascar was the first to qualify for the tournament and there is no shame in losing to such a team,โ€ Rohr said in his post-match conference. โ€œMadagascar was the better team today (Sunday). We started with giving them (Madagascar) a gift and after, we could not find a solution.โ€

Mtcheeew. Rohr, no vex me abeg. So Madasgascar is now a good team that deserves to beat us ba? This year just dey somehow for Nigerian sports. Anthony Joshua, U-20 Eagles, Super Falcons, now this. Make I see how those so-called Super Eagles go come dey shout โ€œmatch bonusโ€ again!
