Voila! demanding Diezani

A former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, has urged the court to order the return of her 2,149 pieces of jewellery and a customised gold iPhone, valued at $40m, which were seized by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

Diezani, who is currently in the United Kingdom, accused the EFCC of entering her apartment illegally and taking the items without any court order. She said the anti-graft agency violated her fundamental “right to own property and to appropriate them at her discretion,” under sections 43 and 44 of the Constitution.

Justice Nichola Oweibo adjourned the case till August 29.

LOL.  Make Aunty Diezani sha remember to return the ‘small money’ wey she collect illegally. Na wetin she go use bail her belongings.

New beginnings for some old names

Ahead of their inauguration on Wednesday, ministers designate are attending a two-day retreat in Abuja. President Muhammadu Buhari declared the session open. Addressing the ministers, the President said the country and the administration would rely on them to implement policies and programmes to lift Nigerians out of poverty.

“I count on you,” Buhari stated. “We must work as a team. Working as a team demands that we know what the next person is doing. You must open communication with your colleagues. Lack of communication leads to lack of cooperation and sub-optimal performance.

“We are working to lift Nigerians out of poverty and set them on the path to prosperity. We intend to lift 100 million Nigerians out of poverty over the next 10 years.”

Okay na, make we see wetin these new ministers go do. I just hope it won’t all be a continuation of past mistakes.

APC vexed by Ike Ekweremadu’s beating

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned the attack on the immediate past Deputy Senate President and serving Senator, Ike Ekweremadu, by members of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB) on Saturday in Nuremberg, Germany.

The ruling party in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Lanre Issa-Onilu, said those involved in the despicable actions and the organisation they represented were unworthy in character.

“No Nigerian should be assaulted in the manner Senator Ekweremadu was. It is an indecent action and it is below the acceptable standard of behaviour expected of our citizens whether in Nigeria or abroad,” he said.

Honestly, wetin go dey pain Oga Ekweremadu pass na say those people wey beat am no dey live for Naija; if not, him for use their eyes see pepper.

Have a taste of a 49-year-old love cake

A couple from Pennsylvania, US, David and Anne Cowburn, decided to keep their wedding cake for 49 year.They’ve been biting into slices of the cake every year since their wedding on July 18th, 1970 but it’s been more crumbs than slices as of late.

The vanilla-flavoured dessert which has been frozen for half a century has survived five house moves and precedes David and Anne’s three children and four grandchildren.

“It’s just a fun, romantic thing that we do,” Anne, who is 74 years old told the New York Post. “It was a very special cake and there was so much of it.”

Hot dates and hot balls

William Bishop, 26, faces weeks in hospital after he gave himself chemical burns on his groin by leaving hair removal cream on for double the recommended time.

Bishop was getting ready for a first date with a woman he met on a night out when he decided to use the hair removal cream. But he admits he left it on for too long and used the Veet cream variety designed for body and legs, rather than the delicate groin area.

He said he coated the area with a spatula and left it for around 10 minutes – more than the recommended three to six minutes.

Chai. The lengths people go in preparing for ‘konji duties’…SMH.
