Sowore: This revolution must not be funded…with dollars

The Department of State Services (DSS) has alleged in fresh papers filed before the Federal High Court in Abuja that the convener of #RevolutionNow protests, Omoyele Sowore, met with “foreign collaborators” in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, and other countries on how to topple the Muhammadu Buhari government”.

DSS also alleged in the court document that Sowore received “millions of dollars” from the alleged collaborators to sponsor attacks in Nigeria with the view of toppling the government and ensuring the release of the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Ibraheem El-Zakzaky, from custody.

However, the identities of the alleged foreign collaborators, the details of the meetings and how much was allegedly taken by Sowore were not disclosed in the court document.

One man’s Evans is another man’s Robin Hood

Some residents of Ibi, hometown of Hamisu Bala Wadume, on Tuesday said they would miss the “generosity” of the suspected multi-millionaire kidnapper. Wadume was rearrested on Monday evening at Lai Mai, in Alo Holo area of Kano State, by the IGP Intelligence Response Team.

Reacting to Wadume’s arrest, an Ibi resident, Yahaya Maikifi Ibi, said their benefactor’s arrest was “no good news” to the people of Angwan Motori in Serkin Kudu area of Ibi in Taraba State; and other people who had been beneficiaries of his “generosity.”

“He was a benevolent philanthropist that did not discriminate on the basis of ethnicity, religion or tribe. Wadume is constructing a mosque in our area. The project is almost completed and his arrest will stall the project,” Yahaya Maikifi Ibi said. Another resident, Michael Adi, said, “Let’s be truthful to ourselves, Hamisu has done well with the people of Ibi and beyond. For some of us here, he has done well by eliminating poverty out of some families.”

LOL. If people of Ibi get mind, make them go collaborate with you-know-who to rescue their saviour.

Violence is not the answer

Civil Liberties Organisation, Anambra State chapter has asked the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to tender an unreserved apology to former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu over Saturday’s attack in Germany.

It noted that the ugly incident was a practical demonstration of the assertion that “Igbos do not have kings.”

Chairman of the body, Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme, in a statement said, “The attitude of the perpetrators is most despicable, condemnable, barbaric, inhuman and horrendous.  If they have any disagreement with their political leaders, it must be resolved amicably with respect, corrections, not condemnation or violence. Like Chief Odimegwu Ojukwu would say, ‘Violence is the worst form of irresponsibility.’”

Na true sha. Violence is never the answer. We might have a worthy reason to feel aggrieved but resorting to violence doesn’t make us better, or bring lasting change.
