Buhari dey kampe, IPOB no reach – Presidency

The proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) group has had nothing to do with President Muhammadu Buhari since he arrived Yokohama, Japan on Monday, the Presidency has stated.

A statement by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity Femi Adesina urged Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora to disregard concocted stories backed with spurious visuals, of any protest or harassment of the President and his team.

He said: “It is the stock-in-trade of hate mongers, who do not realise that the rest of Nigerians have left them far behind. President Buhari will make his presence at the Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD7) count for Nigeria, and no scare-mongering or sabre-rattling will detract from the outing.”

Make una sha dey on the lookout o. Because our IPOB brothers and sisters are looking for another victim to Ekeremadulise.

Fatoyinbo in the belly of the police?

Detectives are presently questioning the founder of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, over the rape allegations levelled against him by Busola, a photographer and wife of popular singer, Timi Dakolo.

The Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Frank Mba, said this during an interview on Tuesday. Responding to a question, Mba said, “Yes, he is in our custody.” When asked if the pastor was being detained, the Force spokesman said it was too early to say.

He also said the investigation of Fatoyinbo was proof that the police had not swept the matter under the carpet as was being insinuated in some quarters. When asked why it took so long for the pastor to be invited, Mba said the police wanted to get statements from several witnesses and then build a solid case before inviting him.

All right. We dey wait to see wetin go shele next.

The rising cost of checking out to obodo America

The United States Embassy in Nigeria Tuesday announced that Nigerians will be charged nonrefundable reciprocity fee or visa issuance fee in addition to the nonimmigrant visa application fee from August 29.

“Effective worldwide on August 29, Nigerian citizens will be required to pay a visa issuance fee, or reciprocity fee, for all approved applications for nonimmigrant visas in B, F, H1B, I, L, and R visa classifications,” the US embassy in Nigeria said in a statement.

“The reciprocity fee will be charged in addition to the nonimmigrant visa application fee, also known as the MRV fee, which all applicants pay at the time of application.” The embassy said the new reciprocity fee for Nigerian citizens is meant to eliminate the cost difference for its citizens and Nigerians.

On how to frame OBJ

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the February 2019 election, Atiku Abubakar, on Monday raised the alarm that President Muhammadu Buhari’s government was desperately plotting to frame former President Olusegun Obasanjo to stop him from criticising Buhari’s administration.

Atiku, in a statement by his media office, also alleged that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was feeding members of the media with deliberate falsehoods in an attempt to cause disaffection between him and Obasanjo on one hand, and between Obasanjo and Nigerians in general.

He said, “The truth is that there is desperation on the part of the current administration to rope in former President Olusegun Obasanjo into a crime as a way of silencing his voice, which they see as the preeminent critical voice against the misrule that they have foisted on Nigerians.”

All this gist no concern OBJ sef. If you want his attention, write him a letter.

Otumopko a.k.a. black magic and government in India

A firebrand Indian monk-turned-lawmaker has suggested that political opponents are using “black magic” to harm Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Hindu nationalist party, after three top members died this month.

“I met a holy man during the elections who warned that the opposition might use black magic and killing powers against the BJP,” the newly elected Pragya Thakur from Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said. “He warned because of the evil powers bad times are upon us and it would harm the party and the leaders who are efficient, hardworking and manage the party affairs.” She added that the saint cautioned her to take “precautions”.

Thakur, who joined the BJP in April and now represents the central industrial city of Bhopal, has raised eyebrows for claiming that drinking cow urine had helped cure her cancer and extolling the benefits of drinking a concoction of milk, butter and cow dung. A spokesperson for the opposition Congress said Tuesday that the 49-year-old has lost her mental balance and advised her to undergo treatment.

LOL. Makes you wonder the amount of otumopko thrown about in our political and governmental spaces. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why snakes and monkeys have starting eating our fufu, shawarma and money.
