Is Tunde Bakare the anointed one?
“Take it to the mountain top if you have never heard it before. I am saying it to you this morning, in the scheme of things, as far as politics of Nigeria is concerned, President Buhari is number 15 and yours sincerely is number 16. I never said that to you before, I want to let you know it this morning; nothing can change it, in the name of Jesus. He (Buhari) is number 15; I am number 16,” Bakare said, placing his right hand on his chest.
“To this end was I born and for this purpose came I into the world. I have prepared for this for 30 years. When he (Buhari) chose to run in 2019, he is still number 15, when he steps out, I step in.”
LOL. See, I envy Pastor Bakare’s self-assurance but no be by mouth or on pulpit him go win election o. Hope say him know that the children of God don’t live by bread alone, but by every bag of rice and gallon of groundnut oil that proceeds from his pocket?
Biafra speaks again, this time for a bullied vice-president
The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) on Sunday asked President Muhammadu Buhari’s aides to stop maltreating Vice President Yemi Osinbajo. The group alleged that the ‘subjective measures’ against Osinbajo by “vicious Fulani cabals dictating the affairs of Buhari” were calculated to suppress Christians in the country.
“MASSOB views all these subjective frustration as a payback time to Prof. Yemi Osinbajo by unrepentant and unforgiving cabals that have vowed to fulfil the commandments of their forefathers,” he said.
This country sef. The matter long, and I’m too young to carry it on my head.
A witch-hunt against Obiano, sponsored by opponents
The Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, on Sunday accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of trying to destabilise his government. He said the PDP had commenced the 2021 governorship campaign in the state, two years ahead.
In a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, C-Don Adinuba, Obiano, who is on his second term on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, said he would not engage in irresponsible politicking with anybody. He said, “The next governorship in Anambra State will take place in 2021 and the next round of general election will not hold until four years’ time. Yet, the Anambra State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has started the electioneering for both the governorship and general elections. “
Reacting, the PDP Chairman in the state, Ndubuisi Nwobu, said, “Obiano is haunted by his poor performance. He should leave the PDP out of his problems. The unfulfilled promises to communities are haunting them. The crises they stoked in various communities are haunting them.”
LOL. Our politicians and their doublespeak ehn. Why Oga Nwobu no address the matter with a simple Yes, we have started campaigning or No, we haven’t started campaigning? Him just leave us in a state of quagmire and second guessing. Mtcheew.
The pepper spray solution
While the Rivers State Police Command continues the manhunt for more serial killers of young women in hotels, some commercial sex workers in Port Harcourt have decided to get pepper spray to ward off attackers. The commercial sex workers explained that since they were not ready to leave their trade, they were also not prepared to be victims of serial killers, who had been on the prowl in the state since July this year.
“I have been in this trade for a long time and when we began to hear about the killings of girls in hotels, some of us agreed to be moving with pepper spray. We will apply the pepper spray on them if they come to kill us,” Stacy, a commercial sex worker, said.
Another commercial sex worker, who gave her name simply as Sabina, said she was not moved by the news of the serial killers, adding that she had plans to begin to mix pepper with water and put in a small bottle. “With the small bottle, I can target the eyes of the bad man. I cannot allow anybody to use me for rituals. With pepper in his eyes, I will shout and people will come to see what is happening,” Sabina stated.
It’s sad that our women are constantly on edge about their safety and wellbeing. Yes, nobody is safe in this country but we know our women and girls have the odds stacked against them. And if pepper spray can do more than our security agencies then I’m in support!
Customer is (no) king but an a**hole
A barbershop customer launched into a ‘sexist attack’ at female staff after refusing their services ‘because they’re not men’, the shop’s owner says. Tracy Holmes, 45, said the middle-aged man lost his temper after ‘travelling a long way’ with his teenage son to the barbers to find women working there rather than men.
Tracy said: “I got a tearful call from one of the girls to say that a man had been stood lingering at the doorstep where the door was open for a while without coming in. Then, when my staff asked if they could help, he told them that he was very disappointed. ‘He told them that he’d Googled our barbers and travelled a long way to get to us to find that we ‘aren’t actually a proper barbers’ because the staff are female.”
Tracy has worked at Mr Ian’s Hairdressing for Men in Hessle, East Yorkshire, for 19 years and took over ownership last year. “Regardless of what this man thinks, we are barbers.”
Mtcheeww. That man no well. It is situations like this that we should cue in Skepta’s ‘Bad Energy’.
