Spiritual Battles: Fall down and down – Nigerian Army
The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, has said that terrorism and terrorist groups could not be eliminated alone by the military unless religious bodies and organisations in the country come to the “forefront of this spiritual battle.”
The Army chief noted that the focus must be religious groups interfacing on addressing the ideologies which fuelled the Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists. Buratai stated this on Monday in Abuja during a spiritual warfare seminar at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre with the theme, “Countering insurgency and violent extremism in Nigeria through spiritual warfare.”
Buratai said, “It is easier to defeat Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists than their ideology because, while we degrade the terrorists and their havens, the narrative of the ideology grows the group. Therefore, communities, families, and groups should join in the fight and narratives to reject and prevent the ideologies of the terrorists and extremist groups.”
Mtcheew. The lies our military don feed us sha, I’m tired. Today they have won Boko Haram; tomorrow they need prayers. Make we dey look una.
Sowore’s dilemma worsens
Nigerian government Monday accused Omoyele Sowore, the publisher of Sahara Reporters and the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), of transferring $50,000 illicit funds.
During the sitting on Monday at the Federal High Court, Abuja, the prosecutor, Hassan Liman, on behalf of the Nigerian government, while reading out the seven-count charge alleged that Sowore transferred some “illicit funds”. Sowore, however, pleaded not guilty of all the charges.
LOL. This country ehn. So going by all these, una still believe this country go get head anytime soon? Okay.
Dr Atiku diagnoses Nigeria
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the February 23, 2019 election, Atiku Abubakar, on Monday said all is not well with Nigeria. The former Vice President, in his message on Nigeria’s 59th Independence Anniversary, said the nation’s founding fathers could never have fathomed that 59 years after birthing the largest black nation on earth, Nigeria would be facing a situation where free press is endangered.
He said: “All is not well when judges are persecuted for enforcing the constitutionally guaranteed fundamental human rights of Nigerian citizens. All is not well when Nigeria is now officially the world headquarters for extreme poverty and out-of-school children, yet the cost of maintaining those in government continues to grow, while the needs of the governed are not being met.
“And certainly, all is no well when the media cannot freely express itself without the fear that those who wield the big stick would use it on them for saying things as they are.”
If FG fit find chance to ‘Soworise’ Atiku for these things wey him talk dem go do am. Na red eye dem dey shine nowadays.
A Bakare reminder
The cleric said that was what he saw one year, seven months ago and the situation has not changed. “I’ll probably be the first President preaching on Sunday,” Bakare told his congregation. He, however, denounced social media reports linking his presidential ambition to the alleged scheme by the “cabal” in the Presidency to strip Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo of powers and render him irrelevant.
“They need to understand that I am a one-man army; I don’t need to join anyone to do any evil and never will I; you will always know where I stand on issues. Those who pull others down in order to get up will never get up. We don’t play games here; we declare the word.”
Okay o Pastor, sha prepare the money and gifts you go share. Nothing goes for nothing. That’s the Nigerian way.
