Three members of Boko Haram fighters on a looting spree in Kalamari Village, about 30 Kilometres to Kukawa town of Borno State, met their Waterloo Sunday when troops of the Nigerian Army came in contact with them.
The terrorists, who were believed to have embarked on the mission possibly to refill their stock, were gunned down by troops of 82 Division Task Force Brigade deployed in Operation Lafiya Dole, on Sunday.
The troops, according to a statement by the Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Texas Chukwu, encountered the terrorists while on fighting patrol at Kukawa general area.
They were said to have got information on the terrorists’ activities in Kalamari village 30 Kilometres to Kukawa town Borno State.
The army statement said the terrorists were on a looting and extortion mission in the Kalamari village.
