Troops neutralise 16 Boko Haram terrorists in Borno (Channels)
Sixteen Boko Haram terrorists have been killed by troops of the joint task force, Operations Hadin Kai, as they attempted to infiltrate the 25 Taskforce Brigade headquarters in Damboa near Sambisa Forest.
The troops of the Taskforce Brigade, along with members of the civilian joint task force also recovered weapons and IED making materials in the operations.
The attack happened at about 1am on Friday (today) when troops sighted a group of terrorists and immediately engaged them with sustained indirect fire. After approximately two hours of intense engagement, the terrorists were forced to retreat. Read more

The Nigerian military will not allow terrorists, bandits, and other violent armed groups to destroy the country and the social and economic life of the people, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt. Gen Olufemi Oluyede has vowed.
Gen Oluyede made the vow while addressing army operation commanders and senior officers at the closing of the three-day COAS bi-annual conference in Maiduguri, capital of Borno, on Friday.
“We are faced with an adversary that threatens the very fabric of our sociocultural heritage. They seek to disrupt our way of life and destroy the society that our forefathers built. We will not allow such to happen,” he declared. Read more

FCTA to takeover 4,794 Abuja property over unpaid ground rent (Punch)
The Federal Capital Territory Administration will, from Monday, May 26th, 2025, commence the physical takeover of 4,794 properties whose land titles were revoked over non-payment of ground rent spanning between 10 and 43 years.
This was announced on Friday at a joint press briefing by the FCT Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication and Social Media, Mr. Lere Olayinka; the Director of Land Administration, Mr. Chijioke Nwankwoeze; and the Director of Development Control, Mr. Mukhtar Galadima.
The FCTA says the revocation of the titles was carried out in accordance with the Land Use Act, particularly Section 28, Subsections 5(a) and (b), which empowers government to reclaim land for violations of the terms of occupancy. Read more
