Turaki’s campaign train moves to Delta State

The campaign team of frontline Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Aspirant, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, is on its way to meet with the Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, state PDP executive committee, delegates and other leaders of the party.

The visit is in continuation of his consultations with stakeholders ahead of the PDP national convention.

Turaki, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), had made a stop at the PDP Edo State secretariat in Benin on Monday for the same purpose.

Ahead of the visit, the Director General of Turaki’s campaign organisation, Boni Haruna, told the Delta State PDP family that his principal “is a safe political ‘product’ with no risk at all and you don’t need to reconcile him with anybody in his quest for political office”.

The public has since started to have a taste of the no nonsense former minister who called out President Muhammadu Buhari in Benin over his statement that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government “will not sacrifice national security for the rule of law.”

The highly awarded member of the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) had argued that the position of the President is illegal on the strength of the fact that it is inconsistent with the provisions of the Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land.

Born at the Nasarawa area of Kebbi in Kebbi State, like other children of his age and in accordance with the great custom of the wonderful people of Gwandu Emirate, Turaki was sent to the Qur’anic school in preparation for the numerous challenges ahead of him. A product of the Barewa College, Zaria he went on to attend the then College of Arts and Science, Sokoto for his I.J.M.B. and studied law at the University of Jos, Plateau State. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1986 and later becoming the very first lawyer to be elevated to the rank of SAN in the history of Kebbi State.

Married with children, he is a Muslim, Hausa Fulani from Kebbi State.
