Mighty Media Plus Network Limited, publishers of QEDNG, has named Udeme Ufot as chairman of the inaugural QEDNG Creative Powerhouse Summit, set to take place on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.

Ufot, Group Managing Director of leading marketing communications firm SO&U, brings decades of experience and a longstanding commitment to Nigeriaโ€™s creative economy.

The summit, themed โ€œFinancing as Catalysts for a Thriving Creative Economy,โ€ will convene industry leaders, investors, policymakers and creatives to explore funding solutions and growth strategies for the sector.

Olumide Iyanda, CEO of Mighty Media Plus and Convener of the summit, praised Ufotโ€™s track record and deep ties to QEDNG, noting his influence since the platformโ€™s inception in 2014.

โ€œHis leadership will inspire innovation and highlight the power of strategic collaboration,โ€ Iyanda said.

Ufot began his career in 1984 at Insight Communications and later co-founded SO&U in 1990. A graduate of Industrial Design from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, he has also trained at the Swedish Institute of Management and Lagos Business School.

He has served as president of the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN), Chairman of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON), and currently chairs the Policy Innovation Centre. He also serves on the boards of the Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG), LEAP Africa and Special Olympics Nigeria.

In recognition of his industry impact, Ufot was conferred with the national honour of Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) in 2014.

The summit is open to professionals across the creative spectrumโ€”filmmakers, musicians, designers, advertisers, academics, and financiersโ€”and aims to foster innovation, collaboration, and investment in Nigeriaโ€™s creative economy.
