Udom declares for Second term, urges Akwa Ibom people to ignore opposition (Guardian)

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel has charged the people of the state not to panic over former governor Godswill Akpabio’s defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying his move would not deter him from winning a second term in office.

He made the assertion yesterday at the Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo while declaring his second term bid amid a mammoth crowd from within and outside the state.

He charged the people to brace up to take their destinies in their hands by resisiting APC and his predecessor’s planned takeover of the state using Hitler-style invasion of Poland during World War II. Read more
