The Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Benin Branch, Chief Nosa Eso-Osagie, on Tuesday urged lawyers and others to show greater love in the discharge of their duties.
Edo-Osagie made this known in a message to lawyers in celebration of the 2023 Valentine’s Day.
The message was copied to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.NAN reports that Valentine’s Day, also called the Feast of St. Valentine, originated as a Christian celebration in honour of a martyr, St. Valentine.
It later became recognised and celebrated globally as a day to express love. The celebration takes place every Feb. 14.
According to Edo-Osagie, true happiness is in loving and being loved.
He said that life would be more meaningful with love for friends, colleagues, relations and even strangers.
“It is often said that we are most alive when we are in love. Infact, love is the only thing we can never get enough of and the only thing we can never give enough of.
“Our life’s journey becomes easier with the love and support of family, friends and colleagues, but we often forget to deeply show our appreciation.
“Today, chance has presented to us another golden opportunity to once again express our gratitude to all the people who make us happy.
“They are the gardeners who make our souls to blossom,” he said.
Edo-Osagie added that love flourished in giving, not in getting; in losing, not in gaining; and in releasing, not in possessing.
“As we celebrate today, I encourage you to spread love everywhere you go. Let no one come to you without leaving happier,” he said. (NAN)
