Cristiano Ronaldo hopes Gonzalo Higuain avoids further punishment for his tantrum after being sent off against Juventus and says he tried to calm his old teammate down.
AC Milan frontman Higuain had an eventful match, missing a first-half penalty that would have levelled the scores, and then, later in the game, he was shown two yellow cards within seconds after arguing with the referee.
Higuain completely lost his cool and had to be dragged away by his teammates in tears, and Ronaldo says he tried to stop him from getting into further trouble.
‘I told him to calm down, as he risked an even heavier ban,’ Ronaldo told Sky Sport Italia.
