The Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) has claimed that 15 of its members were killed during the Ashura mourning procession on Tuesday in Kaduna, Bauchi, Gombe, Sokoto and others. Wife of the Governor of Ekiti State, Mrs. Bisi Fayemi, who was on tour of council areas in the state, escaped being attacked by the protesters as they smashed all the vehicles in her convoy. Zulum sets up second office outside Government House (Guardian)
The Borno Government says it has concluded arrangements for Gov. Babagana Zulum to commence operation from his second office, established at the Musa Usman State Secretariat. Mr Ndahi Sawa, the Director of Press, Government House, said this in a statement issued on Tuesday in Maiduguri. Russia-US espionage: Details emerge of ‘extracted spy’ (BBC)
More details have emerged of an alleged high-level spy the US reportedly extracted from Russia amid fears his cover was about to be blown. Russian media named him as Oleg Smolenkov, who worked for a key aide to President Vladimir Putin.
