Wizkid teases new album ‘More Love Less Ego’

Grammy award-winning singer Wizkid has confirmed completing his fifth studio album More Love Less Ego (MLLE).

The Made In Lagos singer teased the completion of his album on his Instagram story on Sunday.

In his first post, he shared why this album meant a lot to him. Wizkid wrote “I made this one with a lot of love. Opoju!! (It’s plenty) #MLLE.”

He also thanked those who worked on the album with him in his next post. “Special thanks to everyone that helped me put this together. Y’all got a special place in my heart. #MLLE.”

MLLE, billed to be released in the second quarter of the year, follows Wizkid’s record-breaking 2020 album Made In Lagos.

Wizkid’s fourth studio album, Made In Lagos, was released on 30 October 2020 by Starboy Entertainment and RCA Records. The 14-track album featured guest appearances from British artists Skepta and Ella Mai, American R&B singer H.E.R., Jamaican artists Projexx and Damian Marley, and Nigerian artists Burna Boy, Tay Iwar, Terri and Tems.

The album’s deluxe edition was released in 2021 and included guest appearances from Nigerian artist Buju and Canadian singer Justin Bieber.

MIL earned Wizkid his Grammy win for Best Global Song at the 2020 Grammy awards. The album also earned him a nod at the 2022 Grammy Awards for Best Global Music Album, and its hit single Essence earned him another nod for Best Global Music Performance at the award ceremony.

In October 2021, Made In Lagos recorded over one billion streams across streaming platforms globally, less than a year after its release. (Guardian)
