A 66-year-old German woman, Alexandra Hildebrandt, has drawn attention after giving birth to her 10th child without fertility treatment.
The birth took place on March 19 at the Charité Hospital in Berlin, Germany, through a caesarean section.
She shared the news during an interview with TODAY.com on Wednesday, March 26.

The House of Representatives on Thursday passed for second reading a bill seeking to bar individuals above 60 years from contesting for the offices of President and Governor in Nigeria.
The bill, sponsored by Rep. Ikeagwuonu Ugochinyere, proposes amendments to the 1999 Constitution to revise eligibility requirements for these key political positions.
According to the bill: Presidential and gubernatorial candidates must not be older than 60 years at the time of contesting. Read more

Ahead of the Eid-Fitr celebrations, the commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, Dr Olusola Odumosu, has ordered the deployment of 4000 personnel across the nooks and crannies of FCT.
The deployment is in a bid to ensure security of lives and property as well as Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI) in the FCT and its environs before, during and after the celebration.
The deployment of officers and men cuts across specialised departments and units such as Female Strike Force, Arms Squad, Operation Adakasu, Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI), Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear Explosives (CBRNE) and Counter Terrorism. Read more

For the second time under 24 hours, senators on Thursday rejected a motion seeking to immortalise the late Prof Humphrey Nwosu.
They only agreed to honour his death by observing a minute’s silence and extending condolences to his family.
Nwosu, who died in October 2024, will be buried on Friday, March 28 in Ogbili Otti Palace, Ajalli, in the Orumba-North Local Government Area of Anambra State. Read more
Bizman remanded for failing to declare $299k (Punch)
Justice Deinde Dipeolu of the Federal High Court on Tuesday ordered the remand of a businessman, Sunday Okorie, at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre for allegedly failing to declare the sum of $299,000, and being in possession of counterfeit $250 and €100 Euros.
The judge made the remand after Okorie took his plea.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had arraigned the defendant earlier on four counts bordering on money laundering, and unlawful importation of counterfeit foreign currencies, preferred against him. Read more

President Bola Tinubu on Thursday received the newly elected President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, on a courtesy visit at his official residence in the State House, Abuja.
Mahama, who arrived at the president’s residence at 2:30 pm on Thursday, is visiting his Nigerian counterpart for the first time since his inauguration as the President of Ghana on January 7th, 2025.

South Korean authorities have declared ongoing wildfires the worst to ever hit the country, as the death toll rose again and the affected area doubled in size.
The wildfires – which began late on Friday in Sancheong county in Northern Gyeongsang province – have now killed at least 26 people, local authorities said on Thursday.
Approximately 81,500 acres (33,000 hectares) of land have burned, more than double the area that was reported on Wednesday and far surpassing South Korea’s previous worst-ever wildfire, in March 2000, which scorched 59,000 acres (24,000 hectares) of land. Read more

Perhaps attempting to prove that reports of its box office demise have been greatly exaggerated, Marvel on Wednesday announced major casting news for its upcoming Avengers sequel that both flex the power of its history and set it up for the future.
A major component to their plan: The return of characters and actors from the original X-Men franchise, a Marvel property that was under the 20th Century Fox banner before Disney purchased that studio in 2019. The “Avengers: Doomsday” cast now includes Sir Patrick Stewart, who has portrayed Professor X in multiple X-Men movies, Sir Ian McKellen as adversary Magneto, James Marsden as Cyclops, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique and Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler.
All of these actors last appeared together in 2003’s beloved sequel X2: X-Men United. Read more

Actor Clive Revill, who voiced Emperor Palpatine in the original Star Wars, has died aged 94.
The New Zealand-born actor’s death has been confirmed by his daughter, Kate Revill, who revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that her father passed away in a care facility in Sherman Oaks on March 11th, 2025.
Revill’s acting career began in 1950 when he moved to London to study his craft at the Old Vic Theatre. Only two years later, he made his Broadway debut in The Pickwick Papers. He was later nominated for a Tony Award for his Broadway portrayal of Fagin in Oliver and his performance as Bob-Le-Hotu in Irma la Douce. Read more

The cricketing world is mourning the loss of former England and Lancashire fast bowler Peter Lever, who has passed away at the age of 84.
