X Factor singer Leona Lewis has welcomed her first child with husband Dennis Jauch.
The ‘Bleeding Love’ singer and her husband announced the joyous news in a heart-warming Instagram post on Tuesday (August 2).
In the post, they revealed that little Carmel Allegra had arrived on July 22.
Leona shared a sweet family photograph, which saw her holding baby Carmel in her arms as Dennis placed his hand over the newborn.
She wrote in the caption: “And then there were three. Our little Carmel Allegra arrived 22.7.22.”
Her husband also posted the same picture and caption on his own Instagram page.
The pair previously announced the news that they were expecting earlier this year.Leona tied the knot with Dennis back in July 2019.
The couple wed in a Buddhist ceremony at singer Sting’s estate in Tuscany, Italy, with numerous celebrities celebrating the day with them, including Sugababes singer Keisha Buchanan and The Voice UK’s Jermain Jackman.
In 2020, Leona said that she was open about her desire to start a family.
“I do want children, but Dennis and I have also talked about adopting,” she told Stella magazine at the time. “My mum grew up in a children’s home. No one adopted her as a child, and I would very much like to adopt.
“But I’m still figuring things out. If it was up to my husband, we would have had kids yesterday.”
Leona shot to fame back in 2006, when she won The X Factor’s third series. Mentored by Simon Cowell, she beat Ray Quinn in the final and went on to release hits such as ‘A Moment in Time’ and ‘Bleeding Love’. (DigitalSpy)
