There was panic in the Okokomaiko area of Lagos, on Wednesday, as some youths, who were celebrating President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election, attacked and wounded some policemen.
PUNCH Metro gathered that the youth from the Alaba Rago area, blocked both lanes of the Mile 2-Badagry Expressway.
It was learnt that the celebration, which began around 7 am, resulted in motorists being denied the use of both lanes of the road.
A resident, who identified himself simply as Peter, said the blockage of the road prevented people, who were going to work on the Lagos Island, Apapa and other areas of the state, from moving freely, adding that a lot of them had to alight from vehicles and trekked several kilometres to get to their workplaces.
